Delete your account
How to delete your Vantage Books account, what goes, and what the business you worked for has to keep.
In the app or on the website
Sign in, open Settings › Your account (on the crew screens, Workspace › Settings), and press Delete my account at the bottom. You type the email you sign in with to confirm. It works the same in the phone app and in a browser.
Cannot sign in any more? Email dev@vantagebusinesses.com from the address on the account and a person will delete it for you.
What is deleted
Straight away: your sign-in (your password, your two-factor codes and every session), your profile photo, your phone number, the phones registered for notifications, your location on the crew map and its history, your conversations with the assistant, the record of which screens you opened, and your place in every workspace you belong to.
What the business keeps
The jobs, invoices, hours, safety forms and messages you recorded for a business belong to that business, and the law makes it keep them. They stay in its workspace with your name on them.
Its audit trail, the record of who changed what, is never edited, so it keeps what it wrote down about you at the time: the email address you signed in with, on the entry that records this deletion and on any invitation sent to you, and the details a manager entered on your team profile, such as your phone number, role and pay rate.
If you own a workspace alone
A workspace cannot be left without an owner. If you are its only owner, deleting your account switches your sign-in off at once and asks us to close the workspace, which we do by hand within 30 days. Its financial records (invoices, payments, the ledger and the documents behind them) are kept for 7 years from the end of the financial year they belong to, as bookkeeping law requires, and then deleted. Everything else goes within 30 days. To keep the workspace running instead, make someone else an owner before you delete your account. If other people work in a workspace you close, each of them is told in the app.
